Gavin Stride, Director of Farnham Maltings talks to Arts Professional about a new programme called ‘greenhouse’ .
‘greenhouse’ is a three year programme funded by the Esmée Fairbairn Foundation. It is designed to support the creation of contemporary theatre from South East England, to build its audience and to see if we can better connect the ambitions of audiences and theatre makers. ‘greenhouse’ will sit as a distinct strand of work between house and the producing work of Farnham Maltings.

We’d like to let you know that Bucket Club are our newest associate company! The company of 7 met whilst studying at Bristol University and make work collaboratively through a combination of writing and devising, working with a network of writers, performers, designers and musicians. They are interested in how stories are told and how theatrical form can be exploited. They like live music, bare spaces and making the most of what they’ve got.
They developed their first piece of work, a one-woman show Smack Rabbit as part of BAC Homegrown performed in London and at the 10 Days in Dublin Festival.
In May, they developed their second show Lorraine and Alan as part of the Emerging Artists Residency at The Lyric Hammersmith and were selected to participate in Ferment Fortnight at the Bristol Old Vic.
We are pleased to announce the programme for caravan 2014. The 3 day curated showcase of the best new English performance will take place on 11-13 May 2014 as part of Brighton Festival.
caravan is a project ran by Farnham Maltings in partnership with Brighton Festival, the showcase takes place every two years where the best new theatre from across England is presented to an international audience of festival organisers and programmers.
