greenhouse is a three year initiative supported by Esmée Fairbairn Foundation aimed at better connecting the ambitions of theatre makers, venues and audiences.  It is a partner project to house, a region wide programming initiative managed from Farnham Maltings.

greenhouse is seeking to make a number of small investments of £3000-£8000 in partnerships between venues in the South East and East of England and theatre makers that test new approaches, further mutual ambitions and seed ideas for new pieces of theatre.  We will be able to further support some of these projects to full production.

greenhouse is looking for the most promising hunches that have the potential to result in compelling theatre while furthering the ambitions of all partners.  We are hoping to support a range of different approaches across established theatres and fringe venues and working with theatre makers from local emerging companies to experienced international artists.

All projects must include a venue that is in the South East of East of England and part of the house network and a theatre-maker and be submitted by midnight on 30 March 2014.

‘no strings attached’ is a grant scheme which helps help young people to make their first piece of theatre. We only stipulate that the applicant be between the ages of 18 and 25, live in South East England, and that the grant cannot be linked to academic work, used for equipment or to pay themselves. There are no lengthy applications – the clue is in the title.
