We are pleased to announce the programme for caravan 2014. The 3 day curated showcase of the best new English performance will take place on 11-13 May 2014 as part of Brighton Festival.

caravan is a project ran by Farnham Maltings in partnership with Brighton Festival, the showcase takes place every two years where the best new theatre from across England is presented to an international audience of festival organisers and programmers.

investing in young theatre makers…

On October 23rd, we were eagerly awaiting the arrival of twelve young, emerging theatre makers and companies who were invited to share their ideas with the ‘no strings attached’ panel. And of course it had to be the day when South West Trains had signalling problems, affecting all the trains in and out of Farnham! But this didn’t dampen our spirits…

‘no strings attached’ is a grant scheme which helps help young people to make their first piece of theatre. We only stipulate that the applicant be between the ages of 18 and 25, live in South East England, and that the grant cannot be linked to academic work, used for equipment or to pay themselves. There are no lengthy applications – the clue is in the title.

Invitation to Companies / Artists

In summer 2014, Applause Rural Touring will be programming outdoor performances into existing, locally-organised village fetes, community festivals and similar events in Sussex and Kent.  These events take place almost exclusively at weekends from May to September.

We are looking for companies / artists with an established interest and track record of working outdoors and interactively who would like to be part of this programme.  We are seeking work which is currently fully realised and available for touring in summer 2014 AND work which is in need of some development.  We have some funding to provide Development Awards please see the full Brief attached.

Closing date for proposals is Wednesday 20th November 2013.  Applicants for Development Awards will be invited to discuss their proposals in detail with a small panel on Wednesday 27th November 2013.
