We’d like to let you know that Bucket Club are our newest associate company! The company of 7 met whilst studying at Bristol University and make work collaboratively through a combination of writing and devising, working with a network of writers, performers, designers and musicians. They are interested in how stories are told and how theatrical form can be exploited. They like live music, bare spaces and making the most of what they’ve got.
They developed their first piece of work, a one-woman show Smack Rabbit as part of BAC Homegrown performed in London and at the 10 Days in Dublin Festival.
In May, they developed their second show Lorraine and Alan as part of the Emerging Artists Residency at The Lyric Hammersmith and were selected to participate in Ferment Fortnight at the Bristol Old Vic.
Lorraine & Alan is a modern re-telling of the Selkie myth, scored by live original music and vocals and several hundreds of bottles, for a sneak peek of what to expect from their current show Lorraine & Alan watch the video below.
“As a relatively new company, the trust Farnham Maltings has put into us as artists took us somewhat by surprise, being contrary to what we have often experienced. Based on the advice we’ve already received, and the kind support they’ve freely given, we’re really looking forward to working together on Lorraine & Alan this year and on our projects in years to come.”
We are really excited about working with Bucket Club!
Bucket Club will be performing Lorraine & Alan at the VAULT Festival in March.
