opportunity: Dance Practitioner required for Phoenix Theatre Community Dance Project

The Phoenix Theatre & Arts Centre, a thriving and inclusive Arts Centre in Northeast Hants is looking for 1-2 dance practitioners for their summer community dance project “Marching On . . . . ! “

The project will focus on the changing landscape of Whitehill & Bordon after the departure of the Army and the town’s regeneration as a green town. You will be required to lead a weekly after school dance workshop in various local schools over a 5 week period, as well as attending occasional evening/daytime rehearsals in order to work with professional dancer and choreographer Elizabeth Blake to create a short professional dance piece (probably contemporary dance based) for the performance. You will need to have experience of planning and delivering themed workshops in schools and need to be DBS checked. The school workshops may be in a street/contemporary/physical theatre style (TBC.)

Workshops and rehearsals will take place 2 June – 5 July and the performance (part of the Whitehill & Bordon Arts Festival 2014) will take place in The Phoenix Theatre on Saturday 5 July at 6pm. Fee is £200.

Please send CV and details of availability for the attention of Elizabeth Blake to info@phoenixarts.co.uk or The Phoenix Theatre & Arts Centre, Station Road, Bordon, Hants GU35 0LR by 6 May 2014.
