Bucket Club are an award-winning emerging company based in the South of England. They aim to make work that is, above all, playful. They are interested in how stories are told and how the theatrical form can be exploited. They like live music, bare spaces and making the most of what they’ve got. They make work collaboratively through a combination of writing and devising, with sound design and music at its core.
Their most recent show, Lorraine & Alan toured nationally in Spring 2015. It’s a modern day re-telling of the Selkie myth featuring live electronic sound design, song and several hundred plastic bottles. At the 2014 Edinburgh Fringe Festival it won the Brighton Fringe Award for Excellence and a Musical Theatre Network Award for Innovation, as well as being shortlisted for the Arches Brick Award and a Peter Brook Empty Space Award.
They are currently working on two new shows: Fossils will play at the 2016 Edinburgh Fringe Festival and Launch Party, a co-production with Farnham Maltings will undertake a rural tour in Autumn 2016.
Bucket Club are recipients of the Farnham Maltings Fellowship Award.
