Rachel Lincoln creates visual theatre. Anna Beecher is a writer. Together, they make visual, sensory theatre with text.
They are the creators of Nest, a stunning multi-sensory performance work for babies and their parents and carers (Brighton Dome, Take Off Festival, UK tour) and are currently developing a radical new adaptation of Moliere’s Don Juan.
Rachel Lincoln trained at the Lecoq School in Paris, in performance & experimental scenography. She recently directed New Views at the National Theatre and was Associate and Staff Director at the National Theatre on Hedda Gabler on the UK & Ireland Tour, directed by Ivo Van Hove. Anna Beecher’s work for theatre includes, The Surplus, a new play commissioned by Young Vic Taking Part, and Glow at Battersea Arts Centre. She is the recipient of the $10,000 Henfield Prize for fiction and her first novel, Here Comes the Miracle, will be published by Weidenfeld & Nicholson.
Anna and Rachel both worked as early-years facilitators for 7 years, which informed and inspired the creation of Nest. They have also worked together to create theatre for/with people with life limiting illnesses (St Christopher’s Hospice) and young adults with special educational needs (artsdepot).
