A play about the healing and restorative power of theatre. Toronto Sun
Premiered in Toronto at Theatre Passe Murialle in 1998, Michael Healey’s funny and deeply affecting play has become something of a Canadian classic and the most produced play across North America for the past three years.
The Drawer Boy is about what happens when the country meets the city, when the farmer meets the actor and when memories start to unravel. Produced by us in collaboration with Theatre Passe Murialle and the Yvonne Arnaud, Guildford for studio theatres and village halls we toured The Drawer Boy nationally in Autumn 2008.
The Drawer Boy benefited from a company of English and Canadian actors and was directed by Gavin Stride.
Funny and deeply affecting, full of human comedy and disarming pathos. RTE
